Wedding Dance Lessons for Celebrities Volume 6

I’m keeping the trend going! This week I added five more celebrity couples to Wedding Dance Lessons For Celebrities. Every few weeks like to see which songs couples pick for their first dance wedding song. With inspiration from the type of song, the celebrity’s personality, and the type of venue determine my two-cents of how I imagined their first dance to be. I don’t know if the couples took wedding dance lessons and I generally don’t know what their dance contained, but that’s what the imagination is for. I hope that I can inspire you if you are unsure of what you are looking for in a wedding dance and give you some possible ideas. If you find yourself hesitant or unsure, just come stop by our Dance Studio in Orange County, CA. I can assure you that you are in good hands!

Wedding Dance Lessons Couple #1: Camila Alves & Matthew McConaughey

First Dance Song: “ Forever & Ever, Amen” by Randy Travis

Wedding Venue: Their home residence in Austin, TX

Wedding Dance Studio in Orange CountyAlright, Alright, Alright. The charming and charismatic Matthew McConaughey tied the knot with his gorgeous wife Camila Alves, after six years of being together. On June 9th, 2012 they celebrated with their guest for three days, camping in luxury tents on their property in Austin, Texas. Food, tequila, beer, and games were all provided for the guests, as well as personalized koozies as a gift for them all from the newly wed couple. Their wedding was a traditional Catholic ceremony. Matthew whispered his vows into Camila’s ear, which brought her to tears. Their children, Levi and Vida, were the flower girl and ring bearer. Both the Texan and Brazil flag made an appearance as their wedding cake decor. They danced to “Forever and Ever, Amen” by Randy Travis for their first dance, outside underneath twinkling lights in the trees surrounding them. That scenery sounds perfect for a Country Two Step dance. This is one of my favorite types of dances and it matches well with Matthew’s laid back personality. I can just imagine them dancing all around their wedding dance floor in front of their guest while he spins her around aimlessly and ends the song with a nice and slow beautiful dip with a kiss as the finale. It sounds so perfect.

Wedding Dance Lessons Couple #2: Kate Beckinsale & Len Wiseman

First Dance Song: “The Scientist” by Cold Play

Wedding Venue: Hotel Bel Air in Los Angles, CA

wedding dance lessons for kate and lenThe beautiful Kate Beckinsale married her beau Len Wiseman on May 9th, 2004 at Hotel Bel Air in Los Angeles California. Their gorgeous wedding was in a gazebo covered in roses and votive hanging candles. Their fifty guests joined them in their candlelit ballroom reception, where they first danced as husband and wife to “The Scientist” by Coldplay. This is a very different song that not many pick for their wedding first dance. A Foxtrot would be ideal for this piece and if they came to our dance studio in Orange County, Len would have learned to sweep Kate off her feet figuratively and literally underneath the sparkling lights as a perfect ending to the best day of their lives together.

Wedding Dance Lessons Couple #3: Katherine McPhee & Nick Cokas

First Dance Song: “The Way You Look Tonight” by Frank Sinatra

Wedding Venue: Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church (Ceremony) and Vibiana in downtown Los Angeles, CA (Reception)

wedding dance lessons for katherine mcpheeOver 300 guest joined Katherine and Nick to enjoy their ceremony at the Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church on February 2nd, 2008. The reception was held at the Vibiana in downtown Los Angeles, CA. The wedding centered around an Ashwell Shabby Chic theme while still honoring his Greek heritage. They danced to “ The Way You Look Tonight” by Frank Sinatra. This is a beautifully classic song that a Foxtrot would suite quite well. It’s a beautiful song where they both can shine bright with movements across the entire venue. Kat sang “Unforgettable” by Nat King Cole to her husband and in return, he sang to her “She Got Away” by Billy Joel.  What a cute couple they are!

Wedding Dance Lessons Couple #4: Michael Buble & Luisana Lopilato

First Dance Song: “Everybody Loves Somebody” by Dean Martin

Wedding Venue: Villa Maria Paz (Private Mansion)

wedding dance lessons for michael bubleThe charming gent said I Do to his very pretty wife on April 2nd, 2011 near Buenos Aires, Argentina. They had a religious ceremony, followed by a reception at the Villa Maria Paz (private mansion.) The bride wore multiple layer dress with a tiered skirt to show off in front of their 300 guests. Prior to the ceremony, the couple married in an intimate civil ceremony on March 31st. They danced to the song “ Everybody Loves Somebody” by Dean Martin. If I had to choreograph this first dance, I would want the couple to Swing dance because it is most suitable for the song. Swing is super fun lighthearted dance and is fitting for this classic wedding dance song. The bride changed into a silk chiffon dress. Michael not so suprisingly dedicated his song “Haven’t Met You Yet” to his wife. Swoon!

Wedding Dance Lessons Couple #5: Shania Twain & Frederic Thiebauld

First Dance Song: “ I’m Your Man” by Michael Buble

Wedding Venue: Rincon Ocean Villa in Puerto Rico

On January 1st, 2011, forty guests were welcomed to join the lovely couple in their celebration of union. At their candlelight outside reception, the bride changed into a short white dress so she could dance with her hubby to “I’m Your Man” by the talented Michael Bubble. A sexy playful Rumba under the night sky just screams romance. Shania will definitely feel like a woman during this playful wedding dance. The showstopper would be a satisfying kiss for the finale with fireworks shooting off into the night sky. Kodak moment.
