Jenna Bush and Henry Hager
First Dance Lessons Song: “Lovin’ In My Baby’s Eyes” by Taj Mahal
Jenna Bush, the daughter of President Geroge W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush, married her fiancé Henry Mager on May 10th, 2008 in Crawford, Texas. At the time Jenna Bush became the first daughter of a sitting United States president to marry in 16 years. Jenna and Henry exchanged vows in a sunset lakeside ceremony. The ceremony was joyous and celebratory.
After the ceremony, Jenna and Henry danced to “Lovin’ In My Baby’s Eyes” by Taj Mahal to celebrate their matrimony. Had the couple come in to take first dance lessons, I would have loved to teach them a swing dance for this Bluesy song. I would have prepared Henry to spin Jenna in her embroidered Oscar de la Renta gown. First dance lessons would prepare the duo to dance to the beat comfortably and with joy. Cuddles, spins, and dips would have been the perfect accompaniment to their wedding dance.
Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett
First Dance Lessons Song: “I Cross My Heart” by George Strait
Playmate Kendra Wilkinson and former NFL player Hank Baskett got married June 27th, 2009 at the Playboy mansion. From the expense of Kendra’s dress alone, one can assume that this wedding had quite the price tag! Kendra wore a $20,000 duchesse-silk gown made with more than 55 yards of fabric covered in 1,200 crystals covering 55 yards of fabric for her wedding day. She completed her look with $795 Christian Louboutin heels and $100,000 worth of loaned diamonds.
For their first dance, Kendra and Hank danced to George Strait’s “I Cross My Heart.” Bridesmaid Mykelle Sabin reported that when the couple danced, “They kept smiling and kissing, and Hank dipped her at the end.”
From leaked wedding photos and the bridesmaid’s report, it sounds as if Kendra and Hank did the 8th grade prom sway for their dance. Surprisingly, they may not have taken any first dance lessons! With the high price tag of the rest of their wedding, one would hope that their dancing matched the extravagance of the rest of their day. With first dance lessons, Kendra and Hank could have achieved many memorable moments on the dance floor. I would have taught the two a contemporary foxtrot fusion. I would have provided them with wedding dress friendly lifts and dips. Romantic spins across their white dance floor would have adorned their performance perfectly.
Kevin Jonas and Danielle Deleasa
First Dance Lessons Song: “Only You Can Love Me This Way” by Keith Urban
Musician and actor Kevin Jonas married former hairdresser at Oheka Castle on December 19th, 2009. The couple had met in the Bahamas while vacationing in May of 2007. Two and a half years later they were set to celebrate their matrimony. The wedding had a fairy-tale feel. The wedding was attended by 400 family and friends.
First Dance Lessons would have given Kevin and Danielle a myriad of wedding dance possibilities. My dance style choice for this song and this couple would be a Country two-step fused with country swing. The rhythm of “Only You Can Love Me This Way” invites the newlyweds to two-step across the dance floor. Country swing gives the duo the opportunity to show off in the center. With wedding dance lessons, Kevin and Danielle could have nailed a dynamic joyful dance. I would have enjoyed giving the pair unforgettable moments within their dance moves.
