What’s the most popular song requested for weddings? Celebration? YMCA? Nope! A recent survey revealed that LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem” is the most popular song for newlyweds to have played on their wedding day.
One of the most popular “do not play” songs for weddings was Bryan Adam’s “Everything I Do I Do It For You” according to Spotify.
Spotify also revealed that 70 percent of wedding playlists are created by men.
Other popular songs included in the survey were:
“Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey
“Feel My Love” by Adele
“Marry Me” by Bruno Mars
Great dance music will keep your party moving (literally!) all night (or day) long, so it’s important to have a good song selection. Our tip: If you’re a busy bride or groom, don’t worry too much about creating an entire playlist. Hire a professional and experienced DJ and they’ll be sure to keep the reception rockin’! Be sure to communicate your preferences and if you have a few “must haves” or “do not plays” let the DJ know, but our advice is to hire a DJ you really trust and let them create a memorable event for you.
