Til Death Do Us Part
Do you love Halloween? Do you also love the idea of a nontraditional wedding? If so, then do we have just the tips for you!
Halloween is just around the corner, a whimsical holiday loved by people of all ages and stages of life. From the kids who love to dress up to trick or treat, to the scary movie buffs who live and breathe spooky season. For those who adore halloween more than the average person, an October wedding might just make the most sense. Whether you like to keep the theme subtle, or go all out and have your guests dress up; here are three trends that might peak your interest.
- Hauntingly Elegant
If dark elegance if your vibe, this might just be the winner. You colors are going to be key to getting this vibe. You want lots of contrast with deep shades, and bright pops. Some color combinations might include; burgundy, burnt orange, boysenberry and of course black. Long candle sticks to set the tables, surrounding flower assortments in old thrifted vases. Shimmer lights will help set the mood, the glittery light helping to contrast the darker colors of decor. Who says spooky can’t be classy? We strongly disagree.
- Ghoulish Fun
Maybe you want to dive right into the classic halloween decor? Keep things fun with jack-o-lanterns lining the aisle, mixing and matching different color pumpkins. Mini pumpkins can be used as centerpieces, or use bigger sized pumpkins to hold your flower arrangements. Party favors can include candy, or treats loved by the newlyweds! If you really want to make things interesting, host a pumpkin carving contest, the guests can then use the carved jack-o-lanterns to wear on their heads for photos! How cute is that?
- A Twist of Edge
For those who live and breathe a darker lifestyle, this wedding makes sense to your guests. Black flowers, with dark red and green accents. Take it the extra mile and have the bride wear a black dress! Leather jackets for the bridal party, or even jean jackets with a fun slogan embroidered to the back to help dress down a little for the reception. Dive into the spooky with invitations designed to look like tarot cards, or even little coffins. As for decor, this would be a fun time to thrift shop for old chandeliers of gauntlets; the older it looks, the creepier the feel. This is a perfect opportunity to make fun signs such as “Pick your Poison” for your drink table, or “Party til we drop” for the dance floor.
